Spring Hill Baths
$Swim in the oldest surviving swimming baths in the southern hemisphere, built in 1886
Take a dip in a heritage-listed swimming pool that has been in continuous use since 1886. Spring Hill Baths was Brisbane's first in-ground pool and is the oldest surviving swimming bath in the southern hemisphere. The 23-metre enclosed heated pool (32 degrees) sits inside a Victorian-era building with original timber dressing boxes, a grandstand gallery, and corrugated iron roof on steel trusses. It was one of the first pools in Australia to allow mixed bathing in 1927. Tucked on a quiet street in Spring Hill, a 10-minute walk from the CBD, it feels like stepping into another century.
