Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre at the park's entrance is a native wildlife centre with platypus viewing (one of the best places in SE Queensland to see them), nocturnal houses, freshwater exhibits, and bushland walks. The park extends deep into the Brisbane Forest Park with mountain bike trails and remote camping.

From start to finish, what to expect.
Drive to Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre, The Gap (15 min from CBD)
Visit the wildlife centre, platypus viewing, nocturnal house, freshwater exhibits
Walk one of the nearby trails: Morella Track (1.2km, easy loop), or Gold Creek Track (3.2km, moderate)
Optional: drive further into the park for longer hikes or the Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious scenic drive
Coffee at The Gap or Ashgrove on the way home
