$$Spend a whole day training, sweating, and recovering at Brisbane's best gym
Spend a full day moving between training floors, group classes, and a recovery wing. Strand Fitness Southside is a three-level, ~3,700m² complex at 43 Endiandra Street, Algester, voted Brisbane's best gym by the Courier Mail. The training floors cover free weights, squat racks and lifting platforms, strength machines, cardio, functional zones, a reformer Pilates studio, and a ladies-only area. Classes run daily across SF45 functional training, boxing, Les Mills, Zumba, HIIT, yoga, and Pilates. The recovery wing has a magnesium pool, infrared and rock saunas, a steam room, the Fire & Ice cold plunge, and rooms of massage chairs. A members' lounge handles between-session work and protein meals.

Local tips
Stuff your mates would tell you.
Fire & Ice is the hero — alternate the cold plunge and infrared sauna 2-3 rounds for the best reset
The magnesium pool reads differently to chlorine — easier on the skin and great for active recovery
Boxing, SF45 and Reformer Pilates fill 24 hours ahead in the app — book the night before
Casual visitors get the recovery wing during staffed hours only; members get 24/7 access
Free trial passes are usually available — ask at reception before committing to a membership
Bring two towels (one for sauna, one for showers) and a swimsuit
