Mobo Restaurant
$$Japanese izakaya tucked under the Story Bridge at Kangaroo Point
Eat nigiri, sashimi, and Japanese tapas in an open-sided dining room set into the il Mondo hotel directly under the northern end of the Story Bridge. Mobo (23 Rotherham Street, Kangaroo Point) is built around izakaya-style sharing — market sashimi, signature nigiri, robata-grilled skewers, wagyu plates, tempura, and a long sake and Japanese whisky list. The dining room opens out to the street with the Story Bridge framed overhead, particularly atmospheric at night when the bridge is lit. Quieter and more local than the Howard Smith Wharves precinct on the other side.
